PLUMPERK · ONBOARDING
5-minute phone setup
You keep your number. We only forward the calls you don't answer — busy, no pickup, or phone off. Answer like normal and PlumPerk never touches the call.
1 · Set conditional forwarding
Dial the code for your carrier like a phone call, using your PlumPerk number in place of the Xs (10 digits, no +1). You'll hear a confirmation tone or see a confirmation screen.
| Carrier | Turn on | Turn off |
|---|---|---|
| AT&T | **004*1XXXXXXXXXX# | ##004# |
| T-Mobile | **004*1XXXXXXXXXX# | ##004# |
| Verizon | *71XXXXXXXXXX | *73 |
| Vodacom / MTN (ZA test) | **004*+1XXXXXXXXXX# | ##004# |
The GSM code sets all three conditions at once— busy, no answer, and unreachable. On MVNOs (Mint, Cricket, Metro…) the parent carrier's code usually works; test it. Verizon's *71 covers busy + no-answer.
2 · Let PlumPerk punch through Do Not Disturb
- Save your PlumPerk number as a contact— call it “PlumPerk Dispatch”.
- iPhone: Contact → Edit → Ringtone → turn on Emergency Bypass (for both ringtone and texts).
- Android: Star the contact, then Settings → Sound → Do Not Disturb → People → Calls/Messages → allow starred contacts.
This matters for emergencies: when phase 3 ships, a 2am burst pipe becomes a phone call from this number, not a text. Set the bypass now.
3 · Prove it
- Call your own PlumPerk numberfrom your phone — you should hear “your dispatcher is live and on duty.”
- Have someone else call your normal numberand don't answer. They should get the text-back within seconds.
- Let them answer the texts. The finished job ticket should land on your phone.
